About
A passion for writing turned into a career in marketing, with education being the thread that ties all of my experience together.
As a lifelong enthusiast for the written word, my career began after graduating from university with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. Since then, I’ve worked across a range of education sectors, from primary school publications to university-focused e-commerce.
I’ve built hands-on marketing experience working with schools, universities, publications, tutors, wholesalers and many student-focused brands. I don't just understand how to write the best copy, but how those words fit into the wider marketing world and what they need to achieve in the landscape.
I understand that education audiences are rarely one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re speaking to prospective students, parents, academics, FE/HE staff, partners or the decision-makers, your copy needs to be engaging, informative and, most importantly, written with the reader in mind.
My approach is straightforward: clear, considerate copy that understands students at any age of their academic journey. I can get your message across without sounding boring, cringey or like the dreaded AI slop.
When I’m not copywriting, you’ll usually find me walking my crazy Boxer dog, reading fantasy novels, or working on my own creative writing.

UniKitOut
I created engaging digital and print copy for UniKitOut’s extensive portfolio of university and student accommodation (PBSA) partners.
The bulk of my work focused on making essential information feel clear, useful and engaging for students preparing to move into university accommodation.
I adapted messaging to fit a range of different communication channels, from email campaigns and socials, to flyers, website copy and whatsapp messaging.
UniKitOut currently partners with 350+ universities and accommodation providers across the UK & Ireland. I delivered tailored copy for a diverse range of student audiences and institutional requirements.

Schools Publishing
I produced editorial content for Schools Publishing's well established education magazine Primary Times, a leading UK family and education magazine distributed across 70+ local editions nationwide, reaching millions of families each year.
My main focus was in researching and writing engaging content for children, parents and teachers, adapting tone and structure to create pieces that were both informative and entertaining. I also interviewed a range of high-profile children's authors and illustrators, including J.K. Rowling, Michael Morpurgo, Cressida Cowell, Quentin Blake and Julia Donaldson, developing engaging features around their newest work and careers.
I also established The Book Shelf, a dedicated page encouraging children to discover and engage with reading. I developed the concept and created content in partnership with children's publishers. I wrote and designed this content to inspire young readers and bring new books and authors to their attention.
Services included:
Editorial writing · Feature writing · Celebrity interviews · Website copy · Print publishing · Digital content · Campaign development

Uppingham School
I developed multi-channel copy for Uppingham School’s departments and library campaigns, creating consistent and engaging messaging across social media, website content and printed materials.
The work involved developing campaign concepts and adapting the messaging for different platforms. I worked across seasonal library campaigns and department communications, helping to promote events, initiatives and resources while maintaining a tone that reflected the school’s established identity for parents and the wider community.
A key part of the work was balancing creative, engaging copy with clear educational messaging. Each piece was written with the wider brand in mind, creating a cohesive experience across digital and offline communications.
Services included:
Social media copy · Website copy · Print copy · Campaign development
How I Work

1. Discovery
I start with a free discovery call where I can learn about your goals, challenges, and what you're looking to achieve. I'll ask about your student audience, what's working (and what isn't), your competitive landscape, and the specific services you need. This isn't a hard sell, it's just a conversation to make sure I'm the right fit and to fully understand what you require.

2. Planning
Once agreed, I can then plan everything out. We can clarify the scope of work, set clear expectations, agree on deadline dates, and I'll create a shared Notion page where we can both keep an eye on every stage of development. This means you're never wondering what's happening next. Everything is transparent, tracked, and easy to reference.

3. Execution
I then get to work on your project. For one-off deliverables like landing page copy or an email campaign, I provide the work, with changes available, in a timely manner. For ongoing support, I keep tracked reports on Notion and we can meet weekly or monthly for a call to discuss progress, get feedback, and plan the next move. Either way, you'll have visibility into the progress and regular touchpoints.

4. Optimising
My work doesn't just stop at delivery. I keep track of keyword targeting, monitor the evolving student landscape, and use these insights to continuously optimise my craft and your results. Whether you're looking for a one-off project or ongoing support, I'll be committed to providing the best possible results by staying informed about what works in education marketing right now.
